Softball Tournament

Rules and Regulations

Entry Fee:
$275.00 per team. Each team has to supply three new softballs

Please make Cashier’s check or money order payable to Touched by Fire Angels, Inc. Personal checks will not be accepted. Also, you may pay by credit through our Pay Pal account.

Entry Deadline:
January 20, 2010. The tournament brackets will be set on January 21st.

Divisions:
Co-ed and Men’s.

Co-ed:
There must be at least 8 co-ed teams to organize a co-ed division. In the co-ed division, each team must have four women on the field and hitting in a nine or ten member line-up. If hitting eleven, then the 11th batter must be a woman.

Manager’s Meeting:
Meeting will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010. At the meeting, your first game will be given, rules of tournament will reviewed, and the non-alcohol consumption will be explained. Attendance is encouraged. If you can not attend, it does not excuse your team members from not knowing the Forever Homes Softball Classic mission and the tournament rules and format. At this meeting, the managers will be signing a non-alcohol consumption letter of understanding on behalf of their entire team. If not present, the manager will sign before their team play their first game..

Awards:
1st place in each division – individual tournament t-shirt and team trophy
2nd place in each division – team trophy

Softballs:
44 core, 400 compression (must be stamped on the ball, no exceptions)

Tournament Format:
Double elimination

Rosters:
Must be turned in before the start of the tournament. Each team can have up to 15 players. One player can only be on one roster.

Uniforms:
All team members must have at least the same color shirt. Shirts with numbers are preferred.

Bats Allowed:
All slowpitch softball bats are allowed except for the Miken Ultra I and II of any kind.

Time Limit:
One hour time limit per game except championship game

Pitch Count:
Each batter starts with a one and one count with an extra foul

Pitch Height: 4-10 feet

Courtesy Runner:
One courtesy runner per inning. It must be last out.

Stealing: No stealing

Run Rule:
15 runs after 4 innings
10 runs after 5 innings

Home Run Limit:
No home runs allowed. Any home run will be an out.

Tie breaker:
Kansas City shoot-out. Last out goes to second, and it becomes a one-pitch game

Line-ups:
Line-up sheets provided and due to the scorekeeper ten minutes before each game

Home Team:
Decided by coin flip before start of each game

Home Run Derby:
$10.00 per batter. Each batter receives five outs. Winner of the home run derby receives half of the money collected from the derby

Protests:
Protests will be brought forward to the Tournament Rules Committee for determination

Alcoholic Beverages:
Due to the nature of the fundraiser to raise funds for boys and girls who may have been removed from their parents because of alcoholism, alcoholic beverages will not be sold or allowed around the ball fields or in the parking lot.. If a team member is drinking on these premises, their team will forfeit one game after the first warning, After a second warning, they will be asked to leave the park. We hope you understand that some of these boys and girls were removed from their parents, because their parents were irresponsible with alcohol.

Continuation Of Play:
The tournament director reserves the right to take any steps to ensure timely completion of the tournament. In case of rain, we will make an attempt to continue the tournament at a later time. However, we will not be able to make accommodation for any team. In case of a rain-out, the tournament will be canceled due to the difficulty of scheduling another tournament in a timely manner.
