Touched by Fire Angels, Inc. will be organizing a softball tournament to raise money for Focus on the Family’s “Orphaned Care Initiative”. This year, we will be promoting the softball tournament to Churches, Christ-centered organizations, and local softball teams from the tri-county area, and possibly outside this area, to participate in the fundraiser. It will be a one day family event on January 23, 2010 at Sunset Park in Plantation offering lots of fun, fellowship, and hope.
Focus on the Family’s “Orphaned Care Initiative” is sponsoring half day conferences called “Wait No More”. Each $8.50 provides one family that attends a “Wait No More” event with a special Adoption Care Package. Each $130.00 can help recruit a Christian family to start the adoption process. These seminars will help families learn more about adoption, about children who are waiting, how to adopt from the foster care system, and meaningful ways they can support adoptive families.
By pooling our resources and prayers, we can have a mighty impact on boys and girls who are overwhelmed by the devastating belief that no one wants them. I think that it is safe to state, that every child deserves a safe, loving place to call home.
This year, the event will have a softball division for men’s and co-ed. We are, also, planning to have activities for all ages, and sport clinics to instruct our children on how to improve their game.
There are more than 127,000 legal orphans in America’s foster care system today. If the Lord is leading you to consider adopting one of these children or if adoption is not in your heart right now, we could still use your prayers and support to help these forgotten orphans.
