Firefighters for Children Against Terrorism: Never Forgotten Sports Classic Event
  1. Teams of 8 may enter the competition. The team composition may not be changed during the competition.
  2. Individuals may wear long-sleeved t-shirts, tape hands and/or wear gloves. Metal spikes are not allowed. Softball, soccer or football shoes with rubber cleats are allowed.
  3. Holes may not be dug into the ground.
  4. Disqualification will result from:
    1. Sitting on the ground or on any other teammate.
    2. If a person falls or loses balance, he or she must recover at once. A caution against one person is a caution against the entire team.
    3. Letting go of the rope before a pull has been completed.
  5. At the start of the pull each team lines up behind a line in its area. Each pull is conducted by the referee as follows:
    1. “Take up the rope.” Each team picks up the rope.
    2. “Take up the slack.” Both teams take up slack without pulling.
    3. When the rope is completely steady, the referee will say, “Go,” and the pulling may begin.
  6. Only the last person may wrap the rope around his or her body.
  7. The rope is ____ feet long with a flag attached to the center.
  8. Cones will be set up 5 feet on either side of the center line. The object is to pull the opposing team so that the flag crosses the cone on your side of the center line.
  9. The referee will indicate with a whistle when the match is over and declare a winner.
  10. The competition will consist of a single elimination.
  11. There will be a five-minute time limit for appearance of a team that is late. Failure to appear within the five-minute time limit will result in forfeiture of the event.
  12. Sides of the rope from which teams will pull will be decided on by a coin flip.

PROTESTS: Notify the game umpire that you are protesting before the last pitch of the game. The umpire will notify the proper tournament representative and the other team's manager will be notified that you are protesting. Both managers must meet with the tournament director, immediately.

A protest fee of $200 (cash only) must be given to the tournament representative at the time of the protest.

If your protest is deemed to be correct your protest fee will be refunded.

If your protest is deemed to be incorrect, YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR PROTEST FEE.
