2009 Never Forgotten Sports Classic

 

Home Run Derby

 

When:       Saturday, February 5th, 2005

 

Where:      Mills Pond Sports Complex, Ft. Lauderdale

 

Format:    The derby will include a qualifying round and a 16 player finals brackets, which will then be head-to-head single elimination.

 

                   Each round will be 10 swings or a maximum of 20 pitches.  Only those balls clearing the fence in fair territory will be counted as a home run.  Foul balls and swinging strikes will count toward the 10 swing total.

                   Players may choose any pitcher.  Pitchers will be allowed 3 warm up pitches.  The pitch does not have to be a legal slow arc pitch but can not be overhand or fast pitch.

 

                   Any aluminum softball bat can be used (does not have to be ASA legal).                            

 

Entry:       The entry fee is $25.00 per player.

Times:      Derby will begin at 7 PM on Saturday evening.

 

Prizes:      Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
